STUDENT PRIVACY

BULLIS is committed to protecting the privacy of our students and their families. We do not post the full names of students on the public pages of our website. Images of students are used on the public pages of the site; however, students are not identified by name in images, with the exception, when deemed appropriate, and with consent by a parent/guardian, of Upper School students.

CONSENT

Where consent for the use and disclosure of personal information is required, BULLIS will seek consent from the appropriate person. In the case of a student’s personal information, BULLIS will seek the consent from the student and/or parent depending on the circumstances and the student’s mental ability and maturity to understand the consequences of the proposed use and disclosure.

HOW DO WE USE YOUR INFORMATION?

BULLIS may use the information we collect from you when you register, make a donation, sign up for our newsletter, respond to a survey or marketing communication, surf the website, or use certain other site features in the following ways:

ONLINE GIVING AND OTHER TRANSACTIONS

BULLIS is committed to the privacy of all our donors and to those making any kind of transaction via the BULLIS website. Should you decide to make an online donation or purchase, you will be asked to provide your name, contact information and credit card billing information. All of this information is encrypted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), an industry standard secure technology designed to prevent the theft or interception of the information you provide. Credit card billing information is used only to obtain payment from the appropriate credit card firm and to fulfill the donor’s or purchaser’s request, and is not stored or otherwise retained by the BULLIS website after the transaction is complete.

CHILDREN’S ONLINE PRIVACY PROTECTION ACT (COPPA)

When it comes to the collection of personal information from children under the age of 13 years old, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) puts parents in control. The Federal Trade Commission, United States’ consumer protection agency, enforces the COPPA Rule, which spells out what operators of websites and online services must do to protect children’s privacy and safety online.

We do not specifically market to children under the age of 13 years old and do not knowingly collect personally-identifiable information from users of the BULLIS website who are under 13 years of age. No personally-identifiable information should be submitted this website by visitors under 13 years of age without the prior written consent of their parent or guardian. COOKIES

We do not track, collect or distribute personal information about site visitors. However, we do collect some information about site visits. We have access to domain names and I.P. addresses of visitors. We compile statistics that show the number of visitors and the number of requests we receive for particular pages or files on the site. These statistics are used internally to evaluate and improve the site. The statistics contain no personal information (or email addresses) and cannot be used to gather such information.

BULLIS Parents are provided access to specific password-protected areas of our website, which may contain personally identifiable information, such as contact information for other BULLIS parents or families.

GOOGLE

Like most standard website servers we use website statistic packages such as Google Analytics to analyze trends in how our website is accessed and utilized. Information monitored includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, geographic location of visitors (country, city), browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, time spent on pages, and keywords used to find our site via search engines. This information is anonymous and cannot be directly linked to individual users. We may use it to identify high-use or low-use areas of the site, pinpoint problem areas of the site, analyze broad demographic trends in our visitors, and make decisions about how to make it easier for people to find and navigate our website.
